2012 Hennessey Twin Turbo V1000 For Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

Even if Cadillac CTS-V is already an amazing, Hennessey Performance put their hands on it and have improved this car with an awesome tune. The Hennessey V1000 packs major power, sleek exterior mods, and interior, or lack thereof, upgrades as well.
This car gets a 1,000 hp at 6,400 rpm out of a twin-turbocharged 427ci LS V8. Hennessey projects the car will hook up enough to get from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, but top out at 230 mph. To reach this, the turbines will boost torque to 950 lb-ft torque at 4,000 rpm, which will make getting the power to the pavement a matter of some intrigue.
Do you think that’s all? You’re wrong, there’s still more. The body has been widened, the clutch got an upgrade, and stopping power has been upgraded with a set of 15.1″ inch Brembo carbon ceramic breaks. Beside this the CTS-V Coupe is now riding on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that wrap a set of Hennessey monoblock wheels.
Another key point in this tune is the weight reduction, which is estimated to be about 200lbs lighter. Also the seats have been traded for a lighter set, and the rear ones can be taken out completely.
So, if you afford it, hurry up because is a limited edition and only 12 will be produced.

Hennessey HPE600 Camaro - First Look

While not exactly fresh off the factory floor, the Hennessey HPE600 Camaro is noteworthy nonetheless. Taking a stock Camaro SS, the Texas tuners finesse the Chevy with a TVS2300 supercharger system, a host of bolt-on products and Hennessey tune, bumping up power to 602 bhp (hence the 600 in HPE600). If that isn’t enough, Hennessey offers 650-bhp, 700-bhp, 800-bhp and 1000-bhp variants to compensate for any man’s insecurities. 2011 Aston Martin V12 Zagato

The Aston Martin V12 Zagato was released in May 21, 2011 during the Villa D’Este Concours. It was made in collaboration with Italian car designer Zagato as celebration of their 50 years of partnership. During the last 50 years, Aston Martin’s partnership with Zagato has given birth to some of their best cars, which includes the DB7 Zagato, the V8 Vantage Zagato, and the legendary DB4GT Zagato, a car that is celebrating its 50th anniversary as well.

Planning for the production of the V12 Zagato started in 2010, integrating both Aston Martin’s and Zagato’s design principles within the car. Like the DB4GT Zagato that it is paying tribute to, the design of this car exudes both grace and power. While Zagato’s influence can still be seen in this car, a good chunk of the work on this car was performed by Aston Martin, a moving symbolism of Aston Martin’s progress in design over the years.
While the Aston Martin V12 Zagato unveiled during the Villa D’Este Concours is only a prototype, a production model of this car produced in limited numbers could be a possibility in the future. In fact, this car is scheduled to compete in the 2011 edition of the Nürburgring 24 Hour race.

2012 Porsche 928 GT Coupe

If there are any legs to a new report coming out recently, the Aston Martin DB9, Bentley Continental GT, and the Jaguar XKR-S will soon get a strong response from Porsche in the form of an entirely new supercar.
Following the report that came out about Porsche's  intention in introducing a new sports car to slot between the911GT2 RS     and the 918 Spyder,   another piece of news has come out that could lay credence to this latest development.
According to Autocar, Porsche is preparing a new front-engined GT coupe that will be part of the second-generation Porsche Panamera line-up that’s scheduled for 2014 or 2015. If there’s any leg to this, it’s possible that the GT coupe will be based on a short-chassis version of the next generation Panamera and will bear inspiration from the popular 928 coupe that ran back in the 70’s. The car could be badged as the 929 and will enter a growing market that includes plenty of serious competition.
Hit the jump for more details on the Porsche 928 GT Coupe.
There’s no word yet on exactly what kind of powertrain the new 928 GT Coupe will have, but seeing as this could potentially be a derivative for the second-generation Panamera, don’t be surprised if it carries the same engine options similar to the company’s new luxury sports sedan. The normally-aspirated and turbocharged V8 (used in the Cayenne) will be the first option. The V8’s displacement will rank between 4 and 6 liters and will produce power values amid 300 and 650 horsepower with a GT Coupe version coming in a 5.7-liter V10 engine set up, producing an impressive 605 horsepower.
The Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) technology first used in the Cayenne could also find its way in the GT Coupe. This technology lowers the fuel consumption of individual models by over eight percent (NEDC). In real driving conditions, savings of up to 15 percent are possible.
The new Coupe will also borrow the transmission choices from the Panamera, which include a six-speed manual as standard and a seven-speed automatic, dual-clutch DSG as an option. With all the technologies being borrowed from the Panamera, Porsche would have to use something from the old 928 to justify the name. This will be the rear-wheel drive system, with a transaxle helping to balance the weight distribution.
Should all these come to fruition, the 928 GT Coupe could end up becoming a Porsche supercar that can hit 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a pretty impressive top speed of 198 mph.
Don’t expect Porsche to be throwing out figures for the new 928 Coupe until the car is officially unveiled. But if we were to make our best guesstimate on the car’s price tag relative to the market it’s going to fall under, we’d price it at a base amount of around $100,000 with a high-performance version capable of stretching that sum all the way up to around $150,000. These figures are by no means official, but if the car is supposed to be all that it’s supposed to be, then consider this price range to be in the ball park of the actual figures.

Suzuki Swift Sport 2012

After widespread speculation, a report has finally been issued by Suzuki confirming that they have definite plans for the launch of the Swift Sports early into the coming year.
This variant will be a three door hatchback and looks like it has been inspired in its styling by the previous, much acclaimed S-concept. A little short of expectations fanned by rumors in Paris, this upgraded version will draw its power from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 136 PS promising 125 bhp. A six speed manual box will be the standard transmission but an automatic is present in the design just in case 100KW proves to be too much power for some to shift through.
According to reports, the Swift Sport will have 6 air bags and modified head and tail lights and a body kit. However, this latest model could also feature a new aerodynamics package, stiffened suspension and up rated Brembo brakes.
The Swift is comfortable, and fun. But the Swift Sport might yet be an enthusiasts dream. It promises a chunkier look with wide 195/50 tyres and the spoilers at the rear of the original Swift has been changed to suit and are now larger and precise to complete the sporty look. The car has also been claimed to have a very good power-weight ratio.
The pricing of this car has been kept high, around 7-8 lacs, but this seems to have been done keeping target customers in the Swift niche in mind. A batch of 500 is what they are considering to be realistic.
The car will most likely debut at the Tokyo Motor Show which is supposed to be held sometime in December this year owing to circumstances, instead of the usual October opening.

Subaru Divides Its Car: Impreza and WRX – Two Separate Ways

Such divisions have happened in the past and always it was a great fuss made about it. It looks like this is about to happen again, only this time Subaru is doing the separating: the Impreza and WRX (joined at the hip since 1992 ) are going their separate ways.
The new production Impreza debuted at 2011 New York Auto Show. It seems that the next WRX will take a completely different path of development and will not surface until 2014. Subaru president Ikuo Mori said at a recent shareholder’s meeting: “We will launch a new sporty car in 2014.” The WRX is that car.
This means that the car will simply be called the Subaru WRX and will be a totally different vehicle. According to a MotorTrend source: “Apart from a few nuts and bolts, every part on the WRX will be unique. Even the engine and body. Obviously the WRX’s platform will be inherited from the new Impreza, but it will be radically modified and significantly shortened.”
The image above is revealing how one artist sees the new WRX, depicts a new coupe model with a shorter wheelbase and heavy-duty bodywork. Of course the car it may turn out to look much different because this is just one vision of the new car.
Subaru Impreza is boasting a fuel-efficient, naturally aspirated 2.0-liter boxer engine. The car’s wheelbase has been slightly lengthened, while the A-pillar has been brought forward to maximize interior space and comfort levels. For now, it is unclear if Subaru will attempt an Impreza-based performance model to bridge the gap until the new WRX arrives, but it appears unlikely.
The Motor Trend source also added: “Up until now, the Impreza and WRX used many common parts, which translated into entry-level Imprezas that were over-engineered.” T
On the other hand the WRX, will probably employ the very best from Subaru’s parts bin, starting with an updated version of the Subaru’s rally-proven AWD system and a turbocharged boxer engine.
Is just a rumor, but if the source is righ, the WRX’s powerplant is a turbocharged 1.6-liter boxer pumping as much as 270 hp, and a twin-charger system involving a supercharger is being tested as well.
Relying on hearsay, the car’s body will be a little bigger than a Toyota Yaris, while its tread width is said to expand significantly.
The new WRX, in Subaru bosses view, will initially compet in domestic rallies and gymkhanas, but they are also targeting Europe’s World Touring Car Championships as well as the long-awaited return to the WRC.
This new vehicle should land in showrooms in about two years in the $26,000-$29,000 range.

Falcon GT Concept with Supercharged Boss 5.0 V8 Engine

Falcon GT Concept car has participated into the car exhibition under the brand name of 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. This is the first time, FVP car maker has taken a challenge to manufacture a sophisticated one-off car for the participation into the Australian car show which passed very successfully.
In an official statement, the company’s secretary and CEO have pointed out that this time the company has put emphasis mainly on the frontal part, exterior texture, interior decoration and rear part of the car for ensuring the acceleration of the performance, aesthete of the vehicle. A powerful V8 engine is capable of generating 449 hp along with 570 NM torque. Power is mainly channelized via a 5.0-literBoss V8 engine which is eco-friendly and energy efficient. The charismatic appearance with beautifully decorated frontal silhouette of the car is always eye-catching and up to the mark. The car chassis, wheels, windshields, doors, trapezoidal grilles and air inlets are all the special technical features of the car.
Dunlop SP Sportmaxx GT tire bands are capable of generating traction and gripping power. The rubber tire bands are also long lasting. The negative camber of the car wheelbases is naturally high whereas the positive camber is perfectly tuned. Rear display glass reflectors are adjustable with sun visors and dashboard. The powerful binnacle has been inserted into the car cabin for enhancing the road mapping and navigating in more organized way. This is the car which is light in weight and its aesthetic quality is naturally high and deeply palpable.
The infotainment, odometer , tachometer, tire pressure measurement tool and speedometer have been inserted into the car cabin to enhance better car upgradation and tuning program. The car compartment has no structural rigidity. The cowl shake at the front part of the car is fully absent. The drag-in engine co-efficiency rate is surprisingly low and therefore this car can travel long distance swiftly even in the tormented weather condition.

Audi Quattro Concept

We first saw the Audi Quattro Concept at this year’s Paris Auto Show. What a car! It’s proof to us that Audi remains on a roll, and we can’t think of a more dynamic way for the Ingolstadt company to celebrate 30 years of Quattro all-wheel drive.
Now, that same Quattro Concept is on the Audi stand in Los Angeles, looking as stunning as ever with its striking Col de Turini white paint and powered by a compact turbocharged 5-cylinder engine that puts out a whopping 408 bhp and 354 lb.-ft. of torque, the latter peaking at a low 1600 rpm.
Beneath the muscular body with its bold fender flares, the Quattro Concept is based on the chassis of the 4-seat Audi RS 5, but with a wheelbase shortened by 5.9 in. and a roof lowered by 1.6. As a 2-seater with an aluminum body and hood, plus a hatch and bumpers made of carbon fiber, the Quattro Concept weighs a svelte 2866 lb., almost exactly the weight of the Audi Sport Quattro from 1984. That translates to the Audi Quattro Concept having a power-to-weight ratio that’s on a par with the 525-bhp, V-10 powered, Audi R8 supercar’s.
The turbocharged inline-5 is pulled straight from the Audi TT RS, which is coming to the U.S. next year. In the Audi Quattro Concept, this stout longitudinally mounted engine accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 3.9 seconds, says Audi. A 6-speed manual transmission and a torque delivery that’s 60-percent biased toward the rear wheels will provide a sporty feel, but the crown-gear center differential can (and does) vary the split between the front and rear axles over a broad range for added stability. Perhaps more important, the Quattro Concept is also fitted with Audi’s sport differential, which actively distributes torque between the rear wheels and enhances cornering by sending more power to the outside wheel.
As for the appearance of the Audi Concept Quattro, there’s clearly an A5 and an RS 5 in the car’s genes, but this car has a much more aggressive appearance. Muscular C-pillars pay homage to the design of the original Quattro and the short overall length of 158.6 in. (only 1.3 in. longer than a Mazda MX-5 Miata) means this Audi will not lack for agility.
Other details of note include center-lock 20-in. wheels, LED headlamps, carbon-ceramic brake rotors and an air outlet on the right side of the hood to help the turbo 5-cylinder keep cool. The single-frame grille has no chrome trim and the large carbon-fiber spoiler integrated into the rear hatch extends automatically as needed. Also, to pay proper respect to the original Quattro as the winner of numerous World Rally Championships, a so-called “prayer book”—the classic rally copilot's track description—can be displayed on the dash in racing mode. This provides precise information about the route ahead for an authentic rally feel.
As we said at Paris, we hope the road ahead for this Audi Quattro Concept is one that leads to production. Based on the reaction to the car at both Paris and Los Angeles, we don’t see how Audi could ever decide not to build the potent Quattro, which we see as a most fitting tribute to the company’s rally heritage.

Ford Mustang With Aston Martin V12 Engine

At the exterior this 2005 Ford Mustang may look like your average custom American muscle car, but is something more than this…it has a secret. Underneath the hood of this Mustang is a technically British heart in the form of a Ford built 6.0L V12 from a 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish.
This car was originally built for SEMA in 2006 and accordingly has all of the oversized wheels and custom interior touches you might expect. It is called Vanquish’d, which by our own admission is a little more clever than most custom car names.
Although recorded 2000kms on the odometer, after SEMA and countless magazine features, this car isn’t ready for retreat. It seems now you have the chance to purchase this Ford Mustang, but with a current asking price of $79,900 we have a feeling there might be some more sitting in this unique Mustang’s future, even if it does have one of the more interesting engine swaps we’ve seen in a while.

2014 Nissan GT-R

There has been all sorts of speculation surrounding the next-generation Nissan GT-R, including its anticipated arrival date (2013) and a possible hybrid version that would use the powertrain of the Infiniti Essence show car. We asked Kazutoshi Mizuno, the chief engineer and project boss of the GT-R, to comment on these rumors, and he vehemently denied that any such project was in the works.
“These reports that say we’re planning on producing a new-generation GT-R only five years after introducing the original, and that we’re going to make it a hybrid, are totally unfounded. I said when we introduced the GT-R that the car’s future will be decided in three years, and we are now entering that third year. Therefore, we’ve been too busy making sure that this GT-R makes a positive mark on the world to think about the next car,” he said.
Still, the arrival of yet another GT-R variant, the Spec M, due later this year in Japan (whether this car will make its way to the U.S. is still undecided) and the fact that the GT-R has become one of the most popular performance cars in the world, make us believe that plans are already being considered for the next-generation car. As for what will be underneath the sheet metal, it’s still a mystery. But it’s too early to totally dismiss the possibility of hybrid power, as the setup in the Essence can deliver as much as 600 bhp (440 bhp from a twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter V-6 and 160 hp from an electric motor) yet achieve 30–35 mpg.

2013 Porsche New 356

A smaller version of the Boxster has been rumored for quite some time now, although Porsche had been doing a great job deflecting the talk as just that: “rumors.” But now that Volkswagen has taken over Porsche, executives have let fly with a few choice quotes, and it looks almost certain that Porsche will produce the so-called “Baby Boxster.”
So just why would Porsche build such a car, which has the potential to dilute the iconic German sports-car brand? Simple: To boost volume. Germany’s Autobild says VW Group chairman, Martin Winterkorn, wants to add some 50,000 vehicles per year to the Porsche mix by 2013, while Britain’s Autocar quoted Winterkorn as saying Porsche is “…investigating opportunities for a smaller sports car and a smaller SUV.” Our U.S. Porsche source wasn’t as forthcoming, but he did say, “Now with VW firmly in the mix, the possibilities seem to have quadrupled.”
While the smaller Porsche (reportedly named “New 356” internally) will share its mid-engine platform with the upcomingVW BlueSport turbodiesel and the Audi R4, the power source will not be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 from the VW/Audi parts bin as originally thought. Instead, the latest rumor is that Porsche is developing a horizontally opposed 4-cylinder, in keeping with the company’s long-standing tradition of boxer-type engines. Turbocharging will enable the New 356’s engine to produce 250–300 bhp.
Despite the fact the New 356 will be smaller, lighter and use a 4-cylinder engine, we’re told the car will still cost around $40,000 when it hits the road in late 2012, meaning it will undercut the base Boxster/Cayman by only a few thousand dollars.

New Hybrid Mitsubishi Evo - New and Future Cars

When news broke of Mitsubishi killing the all-wheel-drive turbocharged goodness that is the Lancer Evolution the tuner crowd was in an uproar. Not since the death of the Supra, NSX or Tupac Shakur did the exhaust-burble and flush-rim-loving crowd see such an outpouring of sorrow. But just as the proverbial liquor was being poured, a glimmer of hope appeared.
BestCar, our Japanese print friends with sources deep within Mitsubishi, informs us that Osamu Masuko, president of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, is so against participating in motorsports that no one dares mention the word around him. However, despite news regarding the discontinuation of the Evo (a statement that originated from a different Mitsubishi official), Masuko was heard stating that Mitsubishi is fully intent on producing a high-performance car in the future, albeit green. Based on that fact and other internal rumblings, BestCar asserts that in all likelihood Mitsubishi will produce a new Evo.
While we initially reported the next-generation Evo might be either a diesel or hybrid, the latest information has Mitsubishi leaning toward the latter, borrowing technology from the PX-MiEV concept shown at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. The PX-MiEV touts a plug-in hybrid system that relies on electric motors at low to middle speeds. Operating as a series hybrid, when the lithium-ion batteries run low, the 1.6- liter gasoline engine turns on and powers a generator that in turn provides charge to the electric motors. For higher vehicle speeds, the PX-MiEV’s hybrid system switches to a parallel hybrid system with the 1.6-liter engine providing additional combustion power to the wheels.
For the drivetrain, the PX-MiEV utilizes Mitsubishi’s S-AWC all-wheel-drive system and active yaw control, technologies both employed on the current Evo. Short of a turbocharger, the PX-MiEV’s powertrain is a striking vision of what a hybrid Evo could be. One can always hope. Otherwise, let the proverbial liquor flow.
