Suzuki Swift Sport 2012

After widespread speculation, a report has finally been issued by Suzuki confirming that they have definite plans for the launch of the Swift Sports early into the coming year.
This variant will be a three door hatchback and looks like it has been inspired in its styling by the previous, much acclaimed S-concept. A little short of expectations fanned by rumors in Paris, this upgraded version will draw its power from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 136 PS promising 125 bhp. A six speed manual box will be the standard transmission but an automatic is present in the design just in case 100KW proves to be too much power for some to shift through.
According to reports, the Swift Sport will have 6 air bags and modified head and tail lights and a body kit. However, this latest model could also feature a new aerodynamics package, stiffened suspension and up rated Brembo brakes.
The Swift is comfortable, and fun. But the Swift Sport might yet be an enthusiasts dream. It promises a chunkier look with wide 195/50 tyres and the spoilers at the rear of the original Swift has been changed to suit and are now larger and precise to complete the sporty look. The car has also been claimed to have a very good power-weight ratio.
The pricing of this car has been kept high, around 7-8 lacs, but this seems to have been done keeping target customers in the Swift niche in mind. A batch of 500 is what they are considering to be realistic.
The car will most likely debut at the Tokyo Motor Show which is supposed to be held sometime in December this year owing to circumstances, instead of the usual October opening.
