Lengthened Suzuki Swift becomes Maruti Ertiga


Unveiled at the Auto Expo held in Delhi, earlier in 2012 itself, Maruti Suzuki India has declared the Ertiga compact MPV for market launch. The model based on the length of the Suzuki Swift platform features three rows for seats of seven and has two engines which are available in three six trim levels. The gasoline engine of 1.4 liter gives an output of 93 bhp and a torque of 130 Nm while the diesel engine of 1.3 liter based on Fiat Multijet delivers 87 bhp and a torque of 200 Nm. It is at present, the MPVs make 10 percent of the market of automobile in India, the target market for the model, however, South East Asian markets are also included for sales.
Suzuki Ertiga is yet another example of the expertise for developing compact cars of light weight and which is fuel efficient. According to Maruti Suzuki, it is designed for changing the lifestyles which is easy to park and manoeuvre and offers high status which is easy to use.
