2012 BMW Alpina D5 Biturbo



Recently team BMW announced its decision of introducing the diesel version named Alpina which belongs to the 2012 BMW 5 Series. The car is equipped with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder common-rail engine that can inject the fuel directly, two turbochargers and variable turbine geometry can now produce about 350 HP (257 kW) between 4,000 and 4,200 rpm which means a 105 HP increase over the basic version.
About the most impressive features we should mention in the 2012 BMW Alpina D5 Biturbo produces additional power, consumption and emission figures remain almost untouched. The Sedan now gives back about 6.2-liters per 100 Km (45.6 mpg) and has CO2 levels of 165 g/Km, while when it is traveling it consumes 6.5-litres/100 Km (43.5 mpg) and gives out 172 g/Km of CO2.
The all new 2012 BMW Alpina D5 Biturbo is facilitated with a SWITCH-TRONIC 8-speed Sport Automatic Transmission which the vehicle while driving in to Automatic Shift Mode (D), Sport Shift Mode (S) and Manual Shift Mode (M). But when the car is on the move or while performance it takes about 5.2 seconds to move from 0 to 100 Km/h and thereby reaching a top speed of 270 Km.h in some time.
Apart from the highly advanced technical aspects this all new BMW baby has an enhanced chassis, typical power –puff brake system Aplina’s typical multi spoke devise 20 inch alloys covered in non-run-flat tyres from MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT and a variety of new age exterior features that are both unique and stunning.
The company has yet not disclosed about the pricing of the car, nor has it said anything about its market availability. Hence, while the car lovers may take a test drive at IAA show, they will have to wait for a while before taking a step ahead.
