New 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid unveiled












Kia motors have introduced its new version of the Optima Hybrid, which has been incorporated with an updated power train. Various other improvements can be seen in the interior of the car as well. The model can be compared directly with the Sonata Hybrid model brought forth by Hyundai. This new model has been given a new Hybrid Generator that is stronger than the previous one. The generator has a lithium polymer power battery and an electric motor that is far more powerful than the older one. The motor produces an output of 199 bhp and a torque of 235 pound feet. The previous engine could produce a power of 206 bhp and a torque of 195 pound feet. The fuel economy of the model has also undergone further improvements/. It now has 36 mpg for city, 40 mpg for highway and 38 mpg in the combined mode.


Apart from upgrades to the power train, other changes have also been given to the car. It has been included with re-designed alloy wheels, suspension parts made of aluminum, the car has been given a reduced height, the aerodynamics have also been improved and a new rear spoiler has been added. The trunk volume of the car has also been increased.
