The All-New 2012 Subaru Impreza Review and Release Date

New York International Auto Show later this month will be a good moment to debut the All-New 2012 Subaru Impreza. 2012 Subaru Impreza is the fourth generation of Impreza, which will be sold later this year in the United States. Judging from pictures circulating, 2012 Impreza exterior design will not be significant changes from the current model. Although clearly a new car will arrive with a revised front and rear fascias. The all-new 2012 Subaru Impreza will rely on fuel economy to compete with 2012 Ford Focus, 2011 Hyundai Elantra, and 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. In this case, increased 44 percent in highway fuel economy than previous models. 2012 Subaru Impreza models will come with four-and five-door.
2012 Impreza four-door has a design that is not much different from the concept of 2010 Subaru Impreza. Changes for 2012 Impreza including black lights, camera-based side-view mirrors, and large aluminum wheels – had been lost in the translation to production vehicles. Not surprising, especially considering this is Subaru’s high-volume, entry-level offering. Some details have been released in correlation with this picture, but the 2012 Subaru Impreza Subaru states are expected to reach rank 36-mpg on the EPA highway test cycle. That’s a significant increase, consideringthe Subaru Impreza when it reaches between 25 and 27 mpg on the highway, depending on the powertrain is installed.
At first, 36 mpg may not sound like much when the 2012 Ford Focus, 2011 Hyundai Elantra, and 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, achieving 40 mpg on the highway. However, the figure is impressive considering the 2012 Subaru Impreza remains the vehicle all-wheel-drive. In fact, the 2012 Impreza appears to surpass the most compact all-wheel-drive competitors in this regard, including the Suzuki Kizashi, SX4 and the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
2012 Subaru Impreza will achieve fuel economy is achieved primarily through all-new boxer engine, along with a selection of new transmission. 2012 Impreza using a 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed four-cylinder, which actually made its debut in Europe earlier this year. Rated at 148 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque, engine power slightly decreased compared to the outgoing 2.5-liter four (170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft, respectively), but makes up for deficiencies in fuel economy gains – - especially when mated with a new continuously variable transmission, which replaces the old four-speed automatic.
Further details – especially as related to performance and price – not yet announced by the car, but expect the full skinny on the Impreza sedan and wagon for 2012 and disclosed on April 20, when a car making the first public release in 2011 New York auto show.
